Lifeboat / Gangway Test Bags
Versatile applications, multiple configurations, and equipment designed to meet distributed load testing requirements.
Distributed load tests are used to evaluate the behavior of equipment and structures subjected to a specified load. In marine and offshore environments, these applications may involve lifeboats, rescue boats, gangways, accommodation ladders, helideck floors, and other equipment that requires this type of verification.
For these applications, Loquen® sausage bags provide a solution that allows different load configurations to be assembled according to each project’s requirements.
How Do Water Bags Work for Distributed Load Testing?
Sausage bags are flexible, cylindrical bags filled with water to achieve the load specified for the test. Their shape allows multiple units to be arranged according to the required load distribution.
The number of bags, the capacity of each unit, and their arrangement are determined based on the technical requirements of the application and the established test procedure.
Loquen offers kits with capacities starting at 5 tonnes.
This flexibility allows the system to be used in different contexts, including distributed load tests, static load tests, and proof load tests on marine or industrial structures and equipment.
A System Comprising Different Equipment
In addition to the water bags, the system can include components that assist with filling, water distribution, and drainage after the test is completed.
Depending on the configuration of the Loquen® Lifeboat Kit, the assembly includes:
-
Water bags (sausage bags): Used to apply the load to the equipment being tested.
-
Flow meter: Measures the amount of water delivered to the bags.
-
Manifold: Distributes the system’s water inlet and outlet connections.
-
Hoses and adapters: Connect the system components.
-
Pneumatic pump: Used to remove water from the bags after the test.
The system configuration must take into account the application’s requirements and the specifications of the supplied equipment.
Configurations for Different Requirements
Each project may have specific requirements regarding load, capacity, and equipment arrangement. Therefore, the ability to combine the bags in different configurations is an important consideration when selecting a solution.
Systems can be assembled using multiple units, according to project needs and the specified limits for each component. Capacities, dimensions, and configurations must be verified based on availability and the application’s technical requirements.
Loquen® Solutions for Marine and Offshore Applications
Loquen supplies equipment for distributed load testing across a range of marine and offshore applications. Sausage-type water bags expand the possibilities for configuring these systems.
By providing solutions and configurations suited to the requirements of each application, Loquen supports operations that demand equipment specified to meet their technical needs.
